A reflexology treatment lasts around 60 minutes, with your first appointment being a little longer to allow for a full consultation, and takes place whilst you relax in a reclining chair. As it is only your feet and ankles that are worked on, you will remain fully clothed but just asked to remove your socks and shoes. Your feet will be cleansed at the start of the treatment and then a variety of reflexology techniques will be used.
As the treatment is very soothing and calming, clients often enter a deep state of relaxation and at times may drift to sleep. Following the treatment you will be offered a glass of water to drink whilst Catherine talks you through any treatment findings; this also provides you with time to become alert again in readiness to leave the clinic.
In order to maximise the benefits of your treatment, you will be advised to drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and other stimulants for several hours.
Reiki can be included as part of your treatment, further enhancing relaxation and healing. Catherine will tailor your treatment to your individual needs as discussed and agreed with you during your consultation.
